Celebrating Three Years of Marketing and Business Support

It feels surreal to be writing about the third anniversary of Harry Janssen Marketing and Business Support. Three years ago, in the final year of university, I was sitting in my less-than-glamorous student house in Worcester, staring at my computer and debating whether to make something official that had, until then, quietly existed in the background.

I had been freelancing on and off for a few years alongside part-time work and my studies. It was something that I picked up as and when I felt like it. At the time, I was already volunteering, working part time, studying law and completing an internship. Objectively, it wasn’t the most sensible idea to start a company.

But despite how busy I was, the thought of giving marketing a go was energising. I have always enjoyed working across different areas, especially when the work helps other people build something meaningful. I was studying company law as part of my degree and learning the theory behind running organisations while simultaneously interning at Bradley Haynes Law in their marketing team, gaining hands-on experience in strategy, social media, email marketing and networking. It shaped not only my skillset but also my confidence.

Much of this third year has seen the business continue to develop alongside my full-time paralegal role at Kenny Spring Solicitors in Bathurst. Balancing both required structure, discipline and a fair amount of late evenings and working weekends. Then in October, my time in Bathurst came to an end. Leaving was deeply bittersweet.

Coming home, however, created space for a shift. I stepped into the business full time. It was a strange adjustment for the business to no longer be something I tried to fit around other commitments but the central focus of my professional life. It’s no longer doing what you can with the time you have but rather doing things with intention.

To everyone who has supported me, whether you’ve worked with me whilst I was freelancing, have joined since I started the business, or have been cheering me on from the sidelines, THANK YOU! Your trust and generosity have helped me more than you realise.

As I move into year four, I am looking forward to investing more time and focus into building the company thoughtfully and sustainably, whilst exploring new projects that are already beginning to take shape!
